James McLean, 93, passed away March 12, 2026. He was born April 26, 1932, in St. Ignace, Michigan. His family moved from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to Pontiac Michigan when he was a teenager. He then raised his family in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan until he moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
James served in the US Army during the Korean war. He attended the University of Detroit earning his undergrad and MBA. It was at that time he met his future wife, Patty Ann Shev, while carpooling to Detroit for college. He worked at General Motors in downtown Detroit as an executive leading the National Suggestions Department for GM. He was an avid Detroit sports fan following all teams after moving to Florida in 2000. He loved living in Florida on the golf course and was involved with several organizations including the Usher organization at Our Lady Star of the Sea as well as St. Hugo in Michigan. He also enjoyed volunteering for the TPC annually. He was so proud of his children, grandchildren and two great grandchildren and enjoyed spending quality time with all of them.
James is survived by his children: daughters, Mary Pastori, Christie Dust(Joe), sons, Scott (Sheryl), Bruce(Kate); grandchildren: Kelly Pastori, Rob Pastori (Melissa), Jaimie Pastori Kelley(Scott), Nick McLean, Maggie McLean(Kurt), Lacey McLean(Alec), Lydia McLean, Caroline McLean, Cooper McLean, Fred Dust; great grandchildren: Penelope and Lucy. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Patricia Shev McLean.
A Memorial Service will be held April 11, 2026 at 11:00am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
