Hannelore Black

March 29, 1936 — April 27, 2023

Jacksonville

Hannelore Black, 87 of Jacksonville, Florida, passed from this earth on April 27, 2023. She was born on March 29, 1936, in Rohle, Germany.

She grew up in Munich, Germany. It was here that she met her husband of 55 years, Billy Gene Black of Bastrop, LA. He was studying at University of Munich to become a doctor. She was working in nursing at the hospital during that time.

Hannah and Bill settled in Charlotte, NC. Hanna was instrumental in helping with the family medical practice throughout, and raising their two wonderful kids, Katrin and Gordon.

She had a strong will, principles, and a deep-rooted sense of character. Honest, loyal, and dependable, she motivated the best in us and gave us a feeling of belonging. She was the glue and matriarch of our family.

Hannah was the most loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her sister Elke, daughter Katrin, sons Gordon and Bill (Lena), grandsons: Walker and Patrick, granddaughters: Christina and Kari, and many great grandchildren. She is predeceased in death by her husband Billy Gene Black.

A private celebration of life for family and close friends will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
