Gloria Schuman Register

Gloria Schuman Register (Gloria), 85, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Les Register Sr., grandson Christopher Carl Stiles, brother Thomas Joseph Schuman Jr. and parents Thomas Joseph Sr. and Helen Whalen Schuman.

Gloria is survived by her daughters Nancy Stiles (Tim), Jeanine Hargis, son Les Register Jr. (Cathe), grandsons Derek (Lauren), Rusty (Jessica), granddaughter Shanna (Joe), new to the family, bonus-granddaughters Stacie, Aja, and Ana, great-grandsons Dylan, Cillian, Alex and great-granddaughters Emily and Finley, sisters Helen Grabon and Janet Schuman, fun-loving cousins and nieces and nephews.

She loved her family fiercely, had a keen eye for decorating, enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, bird watching and researching her roots with ancestry. She always looked forward to her annual fall leaf peeping in the North Carolina Mountains with family. 

She loved celebrating Christmas. Her 12 Days of Christmas family tradition will carry on through her heart-warming and amazing legacy. Gloria worked many years processing mortgages. She was a member of the Garden Club, Red Hat Society, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and most recently the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday February 10th at St. Paul’s By the Sea Episcopal Church (465 11th Ave. North, Jacksonville Beach). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul’s By the Sea Episcopal Church.
