George Morton Ginsburg

September 28, 1931 — September 23, 2022

Atlantic Beach

George Morton Ginsburg, of Atlantic Beach, Florida (previously Schenectady, New York) passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022, with his family at his side.

George was a retired pharmacist, who made his local drug store a place of community and warmth. He was always there for his customers, their families and the local physicians who counted on him for his expert advice. George spent his spare time on the golf course where every day was an adventure as he searched for birdies and taught his three children and his wife to love the game! George was known for his role as leader of the “loud family”, always musical and always finding humor in every interaction.

George is survived by Bernice, his best friend and wife of 65 years, who has been by his side from sunrise to sunset, passionately committed to his end-of-life care; his son Ned (and wife Jocelyn), daughter Pam (and husband Barrett) and daughter Ilene (and husband Jeff). George is also “Pops” to six very accomplished grandchildren and two and a half perfectly special great grandchildren.

A short service will be celebrated at 2:00, Tuesday September 27 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218). In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?frequency_selected=2&sc_icid=mem-lp-donate-bttn-top or to Mayo Clinic, https://philanthropy.mayoclinic.org/.

Finally, the family would like to thank Sacasha and the wonderful team at Fleet Landing. Your love was important to George, essential to Bernice, and hugely impactful to his entire family.
