Gary Leonard Ball, 86, passed away on July 15, 2026, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Gary was born and grew up in Toronto, Canada and attended the University of Toronto, where he majored in commerce and finance. Among his extra-curricular activities, he enjoyed being the coach of the women’s hockey team.

 Gary’s investment banking career started in Toronto and he eventually moved to New York City as CEO of RBC Dominion Securities Inc. While working on Wall Street he lived and raised his family in Ridgewood, New Jersey his success in business enabled him to retire at an early age of 56.

 Gary was an avid golfer and was a member of the exclusive Card Sound Golf Club and Ocean Reef Golf Club in Key Largo, Florida. In recent years he lived and played golf at Sawgrass Golf and Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach. He once said, “I only play golf six days a week unless Judy wants to play on Sunday; then it’s seven”. He also loved to travel and enjoyed boating on the Hey Judes. One of his proudest moments was becoming an American citizen, something he wanted to do since moving to Florida. 

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Judy and her two children, Chris and Bob and their spouses and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Gloria. Together they had four children, Suzy, Debbie, Greg and Allison, who collectively gave Gary 10 grandchildren. 

Gary was regarded by all who knew him as a consummate gentleman, and he will be greatly missed by his myriads of friends and family around the world. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
