Frederick John Robbins, 89, of Ponte Vedra Beach passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to Frederick Francis Robbins from Southampton, England and Margaret Livingston Robbins, from Moira, Northern Ireland.

Fred graduated from Miami University of Ohio and was commissioned in the US Air Force, earning his wings in 1956. Captain Robbins served in the Reserves and began a long, successful career with the Mead Paper Corporation. He was named Division President at 29, living primarily in Ohio. Many moves later, Mead purchased Graham-Jones Paper and Fred came to Jacksonville in 1969 as President. Very involved in his new city, he served on numerous boards, including Memorial Hospital and American National Bank. He was Senior Warden at the Church of Our Savior and later an active member of Christ Episcopal Church. Fred was a member of The River Club, The Ponte Vedra Inn and Club and Sawgrass Country Club. He was a former member of Moraine Country Club of Dayton, Ohio, Pablo Creek Golf Club, Deerwood Country Club, The Plantation at Ponte Vedra (President) and Burlingame Country Club in North Carolina. An accomplished golfer who played around the world, he was proud of his 50 year commitment to the golfing community, from the Greater Jacksonville Open to The Players Championship. Fred was a “Red Coat” and Chair of the 1975 tournament. He also enjoyed traveling the world and spending time at his mountain house in Sapphire, North Carolina. His priorities were faith, family and friends.

Fred is predeceased by his first wife, mother of his children, Sally Fehn Robbins and his brother Thomas L. Robbins (Dian). He is survived by his beloved children Kimberly Criser (Marshall), Steven Robbins (Shellie) and Kevin Robbins (Paige), eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and brother in law Greg Fehn (Nancy). The widowed Fred found love again and married Nancy Hodge, adding four children to his clan: Stephanie Hodge Bassett, Christopher Hodge (Ginger), Timothy Hodge, Micheal Hodge (Laura) and ten more grandchildren. Fred (Pops) will be much missed by his awesome blended family and his many friends.
