Donald P. Manahan passed away peacefully on September 7, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He was born February 14, 1935, in Chicago, IL. 59 years ago, Don married his beloved wife, Nora, and they enjoyed a lifetime of adventures together.
Always devoted to his Catholic faith, Don led an amazing, cheerful life. He loved to travel and was forever planning his and Nora’s next trip. He especially loved traveling with his grandsons.
Don built a successful career in aviation maintenance management, mentoring many young people along the way. A volunteer member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for years, he loved helping others. He saw the best in everyone.
Don is survived by his wife Nora (Durney) Manahan, daughters Susan (Geff) Lewis and Lisa Pocock, grandsons Joe Lewis and Nate Pocock, and sisters Margaret Lane and Lois Hamon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Lillian Manahan, and brother Raymond Manahan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Don on September 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church 224 N. 5th Street, Jacksonville, FL 32250
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida.
