Dennis Wilson Siple passed away peacefully at his home in Ponte Vedra, Florida, surrounded by his loving family, on October 18, 2025.
He was born on May 25, 1942, in Bluefield, West Virginia to Orville and Iona (Carter) Siple. He attended Concord University before enlisting in the United States Air Force as a Communications Center Specialist stationed in Chicksands, Bedfordshire, England from 1962-1965.
Dennis married Elinor Louise Josephine Mason on May 1,1965 in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. Following military Honorable Discharge, Dennis returned with his wife to the U.S., where he spent his civilian career as an insurance agent for Allstate Insurance Company in Littleton, Colorado. Upon retirement, they moved to Georgetown, Texas and later to Ponte Vedra in 2017.
He was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra, where he was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was also a Veteran of Foreign Wars member.
Proposing to Elinor on a dance floor following a two-week courtship, Dennis never let a day pass without telling his wife that he loved her and that she was beautiful. He celebrated 60 years of marriage to Elinor this year. Even with declining health, Dennis flew to Texas in 2024 to walk his granddaughter Caelyne Dial down the aisle, another example of his lifelong commitment to marriage.
He delighted in spending time with his family, especially celebrating holidays, birthdays, and milestones. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, cards, and board games, including Scrabble, Life and Monopoly, with competitive matches lasting hours or even days.
Dennis is survived by Elinor, daughter Natalie Bittner, son Dustin (Nancy) Siple, seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and sister Joy (Jimmy) Bray.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Sergeant Nathan Beyers.
