In loving memory of Deborah Ella Ann Schur
Deborah Schur was born on September 16, 1943, and reunited with her parents, George, and Diana Reynolds in heaven on January 13, 2024. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Deborah’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and all who knew and loved her.
Born in Hertfordshire, England, Deborah was one of nine siblings, as the oldest girl, she happily took on the duty of caretaker for her brothers and sisters – a role that never left her. She was a loving and doting mother, proudly preparing proper English dinners for her own family most every night. No one close to Deborah ever needed to watch the news, she always kept us up to date- putting David Attenborough himself to shame. However, we aren’t sure all her facts were completely accurate (did you know there is no crime in England?)
Deborah was fashion forward from day one, she knew the importance of a pressed shirt, a tight bun (sorry Deanna), and copious amounts of perfume. She will forever be the only person to pull off mixing leopard and floral print – a true trailblazer. She looked out for others as well, dressing them in pants with whale details (sorry Fred) and cutting hair until she couldn’t see - almost leaving her son the way of Van Gogh (sorry Nick).
Deborah was a vivacious spirit and one of a kind, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered, never forgetting to remind them “I’m from England, you know!” She was sassy, opinionated, and never afraid to share her thoughts. Unlike her capri slims, she had no filter. Deborah loved England, shopping, dancing, music, and the constant flow of White Russians, but was happiest to simply be in the company of her family.
Deborah is survived by her children, Fredrick (Terri), Nicholas (Lisa), and Deanna (Paul), who were the joys of her life. Her grandchildren, Cameron, Lexi (Dallas), Katelyn (Nathan and great grandson, James), Ryan, Ashley, and Mackenzie, will carry her memory in their hearts. Her siblings Timothy “Timmy”, Nicholas, Maureen, Margaret, Jane, and Mark. Preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas, and brothers, Michael, and Ian.
Mum, Nana, Deborah, Deb, Auntie Deb– we always knew to give you plenty of time to get ready, but no amount of time could have readied us to live without you – we will miss you forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Johns Golf & Country club on January 25th from 2pm-4pm.
