David Colfax Tintle, 91, passed away peacefully on October 18th, 2025, at the McGraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida.
Born on January 10th, 1934, in East Orange, New Jersey, David was a proud graduate of Bloomfield High School, where he served as captain of the football team and met the love of his life, Diane. Their love story continued through college while David attended Dickinson University, where he also played football. The couple married in June 26,1954, eventually raising six children over the span of ten busy and joyful years.
David built a beautiful life in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, where he founded the family business, DCT & Associates Marketing and Advertising. The company thrived and became a legacy, with his three sons later joining him in the business. After many fulfilling years of work, David and Diane retired to their beloved beach homes, spending summers in New Jersey and winters in Florida — savoring every season of life together.
David was predeceased by his beloved wife, Diane, and their daughter Dena. He is survived by his five remaining children: David and his wife Jeanine, Douglas and his wife Robin, Daniel and his wife Karen, Dawn, all of New Jersey; and Donna and her husband Giorgio of Florida. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sandra O’Brien of Virginia; 14 cherished grandchildren — Paige, Christie, Douglas, Kieran, Danielle, Danny, Maeve, Kacey, Gina, Tyler, Taylor, Ryan, Carlee, and Nicole — and 22 beloved great-grandchildren.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Quinn Shalz Funeral Home in Jacksonville Beach, FL. A memorial church service and celebration of life are planned for a future date in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the McGraw Center for Caring at Community Hospice, in honor of David’s memory.
Rest peacefully, David. Your love, wisdom, and warmth will remain in our hearts forever.
