Daniel J. Glary

Daniel J. Glary, 68, of Jacksonville Beach, departed this world for Heaven Thursday, April 17, 2025.

He was born October 2,1956 in Brecksville, Ohio. Dan was a graduate of the University of Akron with a BA in Economics and Philosophy and attended the University of Cincinnati where he received his Law degree. On June 22, 1984, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann. He was a veteran of the United States Navy who proudly served his country in active duty and reserves. He resigned commission as a Lieutenant Commander and went on to be a local attorney in the Jacksonville area.

Dan lived his life fully with his focus on family. He is remembered by his family and friends for being a constant, strong, supportive, and loving Husband and Father. Dan’s dry wit and strong intellect stemmed from being an avid, incessant reader. Throughout his life, there were many great trips with family on camping adventures and annual visits to theme parks to create lasting memories. Dan’s selflessness ran deep for people and continued even after death as an organ donor.

Dan is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Ann (Darden); son, Gavin Thomas; daughter, Colleen Elaine; brother, Stephen Glary (Annette); sisters, Ann Williams (Dale), Beth Glary, Maureen Blase (Phillip), and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25 at 2 pm at Quinn Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 Third St., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Reception to follow at the Neptune House at Jarboe Park at 510 Florida Blvd, Neptune Beach, FL 32266.
