Connie Stephens McManus, 83, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, after a brief stay at the McGraw Center Community Hospice in Jacksonville, FL.

Born February 16, 1943, to Onita Jean Mitchell Stephens and Robert C Stephens, Connie was born and raised in Charlotte, NC.

She shared 54 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Richard H McManus. Together they built homes as they moved around the country, and finally settled in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL in 1995.

Connie’s strong Christian faith was an important part of her life, and she was a member of Beaches Chapel since 1995. Outside of church, she was passionate about her pet cat, Abigail, gardening, décor and fashion, and her home reflected this love.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, Richard H McManus; her daughters, Cheryl McKissick Jakob and Sarah A McManus; son, R Stephen McManus; she was preceded in death by son, C Patrick McKissick (Sara).

She also leaves behind grandchildren, William M Deaton (Kimberly), Alexander S Deaton, Cameron D Jakob, Caroline McKissick McDonald (Zach), Lilly McKissick Walton (Ben), Connor J McManus, Kerri A McManus.

Connie was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Ariana N Deaton, W Reid Deaton and Selah J McDonald.

In accordance with Connie’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Her family will honor and celebrate her privately.
