Christina Lou Johnson

Christina Lou Johnson, 84, departed this world peacefully on September 16, 2026, following a brief period of home hospice care. She was born January 5, 1942, in Marion, Indiana, the youngest child of Bedelia Josephine and Collie Lindo Snyder. Christina was raised in Marion, where she met and fell in love with John Harry Johnson. They were married on December 17, 1960, and shared their life together until John’s passing in 2025.

Christina’s family was her greatest joy, and she was happiest when spending time with them. Whether gathered around a table, playing games, or sharing the ordinary moments of life, she always made sure her family knew how much they meant to her, especially her grandchildren.

Christina found special happiness in traveling to beaches and visiting lighthouses. She loved the beauty and peacefulness of the water and the memories made along the way, particularly those as a “winter Texan”. She also found great joy in knitting, using her hands and heart to create warm winter sweaters, hats, scarves and socks, for her family, as well as people who were less fortunate.

Her faith was woven deeply into her life and into the way she cared for others. Christina served as a Eucharistic Minister to those who were living in nursing homes. She spent many years visiting people who were lonely, offering them something that cannot be measured: her time, her attention, and the comfort of knowing that someone cared enough to come see them.

Christina never met a stranger. She had a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for. She was the person who would notice when someone needed a helping hand and would offer hers without hesitation. She gave of herself generously, often quietly and without expecting anything in return.

Christina was preceded in death by her husband, John; her brother, Collie; and her sisters, Doris and Virginia. She is survived by her three children, Angela Renee (John) Pasqua, Paula Anne (Charles) Voltz, and John Patrick (Pamela) Johnson, as well as her grandchildren, Hunter, Emily, Lauren, Spencer, and Sarah.
