Carol Ann Maurer

Carol Ann Maurer was born to the late Charles and Lorena Horan, a insurance executive and a nurse, in Mount Holly, NJ on November 24, 1959.  

She was a born-again Christian with a deep passion for God that carried her through life.  While residing in Jacksonville in the last 50 years she graduated from the University of North Florida in 1997 with a Bachelor’s in Real Estate Finance.  Carol obtained her real estate brokers license while working with a local commercial real estate development company and eventually shifted her interests to office management with a local architectural firm until the mid-1990s when she married Robert Allen Maurer, Jr., an Architect.  She elected to be a homemaker to raise and homeschool their two daughters, funding Emily’s pursuit of competitive equestrian sports and Noelle’s Irish dancing from the sales of her homemade organic soaps and working at Bank of America.

Carol, 62, passed away on Monday June 27, 2022, and is survived by her husband Robert, her daughters Emily and Noelle, her brother Charles “Chuck” Horan, sisters Colleen Higgs, Cathy Horan and Linda Burkert.  She is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.  She will be greatly missed.

Her Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
