Candis “Candy” Mann

August 14th, 1949 – April 28th, 2022

Candis “Candy” Mann passed away on April 28th surrounded by family at her home in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Loudonville, Ohio to parents Charlene and Dean Haudenschild, they moved to Orrville, Ohio where she graduated from Orrville High School. Candy then attended John Carroll College where she received her Associates degree in Medical Studies.

Candy approached her adventurous life with an enthusiastic and kind spirit, while accepting God as her guide. Her faith, combined with her loving and caring nature, made her a source of light in her family and throughout her community.

There was never a dull moment throughout her 54-year marriage to her beloved surviving spouse, George Mann. Their only child, daughter Kimberly Walters, arrived in April of 1969. Due to George’s Naval career, the three of them lived in many places across the country including California, Illinois, and Maryland before arriving in Jacksonville, Florida in 1990.

Candy loved to travel and especially enjoyed spending time by the water, whether it be on a cruise ship, beach, or by the pool. Some stand-out destinations include Alaska, Australia, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and Mexico. When Candy wasn’t traveling you could find her reading, enjoying a local restaurant, or spending time with her dog, Harley.

Candy’s family were her whole world, and they will never forget how kind and caring she always was to all of them. There are not enough words to express the love that she felt for her spouse, children, and grandchildren and that her family feels for her.

Candy is survived by her loving husband George Mann, daughter Kimberly Walters, and grandchildren Haley and Skye Walters.

There will be a Celebration of her Life held on May 22nd at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club in her honor.
