CAMRAN HENRY FIVEK, 38, of Jacksonville, FL, died suddenly in a tragic car accident in the early morning hours of April 1st, 2026. He and another driver were standing on the shoulder of a highway when a car swerved into both men, killing them instantly. There was no pain or suffering which is a blessing and a relief to us. We don’t know why he was there, but if he’d stopped to help, it would come as no surprise to anyone who knew him. It would be classic Cam.

Cam was born on March 18, 1988, in Jacksonville, Florida to Marcia Ladendorff and Clark Fivek. His parents and sister, Taryn Wakefield, will feel the lack of his presence for the rest of their lives.

Cam loved surfing, nights playing board games with friends, and animals. He especially loved children, horses and his dog, Vi, who will be living with Cam’s mom, a comforting reminder. Students at the North Florida School of Special Education’s equine therapy program will miss his ready smiles and his steady hand keeping them safe. He also brought joy to children enrolled in surf classes when he was a summer instructor. He helped them find the courage and confidence to ride the waves. This is who Cam was.

It was his wish to be cremated. We will be planning a celebration of his life soon. Watch for details. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the North Florida School of Special Education (NFSEE) equine therapy program. Send it to NFSEE, 223 Mill Creek Rd. Jacksonville, Florida 32211.

The outpouring of love and sympathy from so many has been breathtaking, and we are overwhelmed with gratitude.

Thank you for being part of Cam’s journey.
