Dr. Burton Aaron Pierce Jr made his heavenly arrival on August 28, 2021. He was born on July 29, 1936 in Tampa Florida. He was raised here in Jacksonville in the Brentwood and Clifton areas of town. He graduated from Landon High School in 1955 and immediately moved to Davenport, Iowa, to start Palmer Chiropractic College.
Dr. Pierce proudly served the Jacksonville community as a state-of-the-art chiropractor for 60 years. He brought in and trained two of his sons as chiropractors as well. He was a mighty man of God and lived his faith in full color for all to see. His sense of humor and love of making any stranger into a friend were some of his well-known traits. His faith, family, and chiropractic service were his three most cherished attributes. The comfort it brings to our family is immeasurable knowing how he truly lived a godly life, assuring us that we can all see him again one day.
Burt is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Nancy and her 6 children, Lorie, Daniel (Rosie), Jack (Kristi), Brad (Chris), Haley, and Deana (Eddie), as well as 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his children, Dr. Mark A Pierce Sr. (Elaine), Dr. Matthew D Pierce (Brenda), Rebecca Pierce, Micah Pierce (Nicole). He was also survived by 11 grandchildren Erika, Mark Jr, Aaron, Brooke, Blake, Micah, Josh, Sarah, Cash, Ana and Amelia, as well as his great grandchildren, Kruz, Pierce, Porter, and Rosie. Dr. Pierce was pre-deceased by his wife of 49 years and mother of his children, Inell Alderman Pierce, and his oldest son Burton Aaron Pierce III (Adele).
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 12:30 PM at Calvary Worship Center, 3266 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32216, officiated by Reverend Paul Johnson, immediately followed by a graveside service at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lonestar Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32211.
