Betty Gardner Larkins

Betty Gardner Larkins, beloved wife of Sovern John (Jack) Larkins, passed away on September 25, 2023, at Vicars Landing in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK, and grew up in Bowling Green, KY, where she graduated from College High School. She attended Randolph Macon Woman's College, then transferred and was graduated from Vanderbilt University, where she met S.J. at a football game.

Betty enjoyed playing bridge with her long-time bridge club and playing tennis with the Deerwood B Team. She always looked forward to alumnae events for the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and was a die-hard Florida Gator basketball fan, where they had season tickets for many years. She and S.J. enjoyed travelling to Colorado to ski, and visited England, Spain, France, Nova Scotia and many other places on hiking holidays.

Survivors include her husband, her daughter Lyda Larkins Astrove (Bob), and grandchildren Billy Astrove and Scott Astrove. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, September 29, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel at Vicars Landing, 1000 Vicars Landing Way, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
