Anne Marie Martino McConnell

Anne Marie Martino McConnell, aged 83, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, following a relapse of pancreatic cancer. Surrounded by her loving family, Anne left this world in the comfort of her own home in Jacksonville, Florida.

Born on February 22, 1942, in Canton, Ohio, Anne was the cherished daughter of Angeline and Paul Martino. She grew up in Canton alongside her sister, Josephine, and graduated from Lincoln High School. Anne later attended Kent State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Education in 1964.

Anne's professional journey began in Canton, Ohio, where she embarked on a teaching career that would span several years and touch many lives. She eventually moved to Los Angeles, California, where she continued her work in childhood education. Though she achieved much in her profession, Anne dedicated much of her life to raising her three beloved children: Todd, Kelly and Kim.

Together with her husband, Jerry, Anne established a beautiful family in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, within the Bonaventure community. Anne was deeply involved in the community, forging lifelong friendships and creating lasting memories.

Anne, a devout Catholic, worshipped at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Plantation, Florida for many years before helping to establish St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Weston, Florida. This new community became central to her family’s lives, offering joy, fellowship, and faith.

Anne's legacy lives on through her immediate family: her husband Jerry, her children Todd (husband, Brent Bridges), Kelly McConnell Wedel, and Kim (husband, Jeff Nelson), her sister Josephine Lokie, and her grandchildren Ansley, Pearson, Ella, Jack, and Connell.

Anne will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her acts of love and kindness, dedication to her family, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on those she touched. May God's infinite grace be with her on her new journey, and may her spirit continue to guide and inspire us. Rest peacefully, Anne, knowing you were and are deeply loved.
