Ann T. Gibbs, a lifelong resident of Northeast Florida, passed away on June 22, 2026, in Ponte Vedra Beach. She was born on December 12, 1960, to George Williams Gibbs III and Catherine Thompson Simmons.
Ann had an unmistakable presence. Full of energy and always ready with a story or a laugh, she was often described as the “life of the party”. She never met a stranger, and it seemed that no matter where she went, she would run into someone she knew. Her outgoing personality, quick wit, and outspoken nature made her someone people remembered long after meeting her.
Above all else, Ann loved her daughters. Anna and Catherine were the center of her world, and she was fiercely proud of the women and mothers they became. Her greatest joy grew even larger with the arrival of her grandchildren, Kingsley, Brody, and Mila, who brought endless happiness and pride to her heart.
Ann found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time on the pickleball court, preparing meals for those she loved, and caring for her beloved pets. Her dogs, Ellie and Jake, were faithful companions and held a very special place in her heart.
She is survived by her daughters, Anna (Zach Howell) Giampetro and Catherine (Raul) Solis; her cherished grandchildren, Kingsley, Brody, and Mila; her mother, Catherine Thompson Simmons; her siblings, Catherine Gibbs, Robert (Melinda) Gibbs, Raymond Douglas (Terry) Simmons, and Elizabeth (Hans) Tanzler; along with many extended family members and friends whose lives were brighter because Ann was part of them.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Williams Gibbs III, and her brothers, George Williams Gibbs IV and Francis Gibbs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A North, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Following Mass a Celebration of Life will be held at The Lodge & Club from 1:30-3:30 pm in the Ocean Room.
Ann will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her ability to make friends wherever she went, her love of laughter, and, above all, the deep love she carried for her family. Though her journey was not without its challenges, those who loved her will remember the joy she brought into their lives and will carry her memory with them always.
In lieu of flowers, Ann's family kindly asks that you consider making a memorial donation in her memory to the ASPCA, honoring her lifelong love and compassion for animals.
