Angelo Erminio DiFilippo, 89, passed away on August 6, 2026. He was born on May 7, 1937 in Lorain, Ohio, the son of Maria and Giovanni DiFilippo.

Angelo graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1960, starting his naval service as a Supply Corps Officer. Angelo proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on submarines. He retired after 20 years of naval service and continued his service as a systems engineer defense contractor to the Navy for 25 years. He continued to serve his community as a knight in the Knights of Columbus Fredericksburg Council in Fredericksburg, VA.

Angelo enjoyed spending time with family, going to Navy football games, working on cars, and was proud of serving his country.

Angelo is survived by his son, Frank (Stacy), daughters Maria (Andrew) and Margetta (Scott); grandchildren Caden, Hadley, Kasey and Ashley. He was predeceased by his wife, Myung Ja, and his sons Matthew and Michael.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 22nd at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Viewing will be held at 10am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church prior to the Funeral Service. Angelo will be inurned at the United States Naval Academy after the columbarium is completed in the future.
