Matthew "Andy" GraySeptember 13, 1950 ~ November 4, 2017 (age 67)
Matthew Anderson (Andy) Gray, 67, passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer on November 4, 2017. He was born on September 13, 1950 and grew up in Airdrie, Scotland in the United Kingdom.
Andy retired from Anheuser Busch in 2005 after 20+ years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren, as well as fishing, boating and anything on the water. He was a kind and generous soul who never met a stranger.
Andy is survived by his wife, Sherry Fowler Gray; Daughters, Melissa Hatch Muka (John), Heather Hatch Bourne (Travis); Grandchildren, Addison and Peyton Muka, and Ethan, Madelyn and Mariah Bourne. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Anderson (Matt) Gray III, his Mother, Mary Sneddon Gray, and his Father, Matthew Anderson Gray, Sr.
Other survivors include his sister, Mary Gray Pitcaithley, one brother, George McKee Sneddon Gray, Nieces Marlyn Cumming, Beth Maxwell all living in Scotland. A niece, Lara Nicol, now living in Australia. Nephews, Marc Gray and Kris Nicol, living in Scotland. Many other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles all still in Scotland.
Andy was the adventurous one of the family, leaving Scotland at an early age to work and travel the world. His adventures took him to Africa, Iran, Egypt and Canada while working with Coca Cola International. In the 1980's, Andy had the opportunity to interview with Anheuser Busch and was hired immediately. He came back to the states and remained with them until his retirement. He was loved by all who knew him. Always a hard worker and enjoyed whatever he did and did it with a smile. Andy had a deep faith in God and this is what sustained him through the last years of his life . . . . he fought the hard fight and kept his eyes on the Lord.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11:00am at Christ's Church, 6045 Greenland Road in Jacksonville, FL.
