Dear Family,
Gary was a friend to me from the moment that we met. I am also a former JS J4, and his comments/mentoring during my tenure (2001-2004) were always on the mark.
Pat and I are so sorry, and offer you all any help that you might need.
We live here in Jacksonville now, and are available at your call.
All the best,
Gordon and Pat Holder

I wish to express my sincere condolences to the family. He took time to reach out to me when I to became the JS J4 and helped me understand the dynamics of the position and challenges. I will never forget his thoughtfulness in always reaching out to help me in any way he could.

Oh Jackie and family, my sincerest love and prayers to you. General Mears loved you all so very much and I am sure you knew that. Wow did he love Jackie! In fact, a few years ago at Scott Air Force Base, I went by to visit with them both at the essex house and I was giggling with them a bit at how they were like school kids kissing behind the bleachers. Jackie missed him before he left the room. I served with General Mears but I learned most from him from how he loved his beautiful family, truly.
Love, Kimberly Huth

Jackie, I am so sorry to learn about Gary's death. He is now working for the Lord's army! My sincere sympathy and love is sent to you today. I will always remember our times together in Stephen ministry and Bible study. Please be assured that you and Gary were a big part of my faith journey and there is no better testimony than that. May God comfort you now. Blessings and a great big hug!

My dear Jackie.... I am so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. It is my prayer that God will send His Holy Spirit to comfort you during this time. You and Gary were two of the "lights" I will always remember at St. Paul. I knew him as a wonderful, sweet man, and I know he will be missed by many!

I will never forget General Mears. In 2001 in a meeting in NYC, he taught me about the Prayer of Jabez and that has radically changed my life over the past 17 years. Since then I have no doubt I have introduced that prayer to numbers of people that would exceed thousands. I am just now hearing about General Mears passing but no doubt that when the Lord received him in heaven with "great job, faithful servant". I am honored and humbled as to how God used General Mears to bless me and my life.
